Why Gateway to Leadership?

Representation for minorities in the financial services industry still lags behind reasonable numbers. According to a report by the Federal Glass Ceiling Commission, African-Americans made up less than 6 percent of the total number of executives, managers, and administrators in the financial industry, and represented only 4 percent of the total number of executives, managers, and administrators in all business services. This program is key to increasing diversity in our industry.

Benefits of Gateway to Leadership

Census Bureau projections indicate that by the year 2042, Americans who call themselves Hispanic, Black, Asian, American Indian, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander will out-number whites. In order to serve a growing multi-cultural marketplace, the financial workforce must reflect a diverse population. Diversity is a tool that can help build stronger, more competitive, forward-thinking companies.

Since 2007, Gateway to Leadership has successfully delivered 53 qualified interns from 17 Historically Black Colleges and Universities to 17 Wall Street firms.
